I'm relatively new to this forum, so forgive me if this question has been asked in the past. Does anyone use Flitz on their washers? Is this recommended? When cleaning my Sebenza, I see a great deal of tarnish….thought Flitz might do the trick.

NO...dont use flitz or anything abrasive. crk have tight tolorences and you dont want to alter that. Also the tarnish your talking about isnt tarnish. I think its from when the washers spins agains the titanium, since Ti is soft it impregnantes into the phosphor bronze washer. My cure for this is to lube only the side of the washer that touches the blade, therefore when the blade is opened it will slide on the washer and not grab and turn it against the titanium.

The phospher-bronze washers are actually self lubricating due to the nature of the compound itself. You only have to lube the pivot bearing. But in the past I have cleaned the washers using a dremel tool with red compound.
