I have a ceramic water filter, which I cleaned as per directions and put away almost a year ago. I pulled it out to reuse it, and the inside of the tubes are covered in dry algae or something. I imaging the bladder needs recleaning as well although it looks clean. How do I clean it? Do I just run a weak chlorine solution through it? How can I be sure the inside of my filter is not harboring any nasties?

It sounds like it was put away damp. You don't say who made the filter (and I am not familiar with any ceramic filter that has tubes (plural) that you can see into), and the correct way to treat it depends on the design and what the manufacturer says. Weak bleach might be OK, some can be boiled, or you might be able to use a baking soda solution. But check with the manufacturer before doing anything.
