A few weeks back I lost my case peanut. I ended up finding it about two weeks later but it no longs has its snap to it. Its got a very "gunky" feeling to it when I open and close it. Whats the best way to return it as close to how it was when I got it new? I'm not sure whats making it have this feeling. Could I take some of the products I use to clean my guns and spray that in there and wipe it down and then add a drop of oil into the joint?

WD40 and some pressured air to blow out the joints should be enough. After that put the lubricant of your choice in the pivot.

Manufacturer websites often have recommendations on their webpage... and their product information that most of us throw away with the packaging.

Here's a link to the maintenance recommendation on the Case website: http://www.wrcase.com/case_college/collector_advice/caring.php

My 2 cents... I'd wash with hand soap and warm water, dry it thoroughly, and put a little mineral oil on the joints... and if the blades are CV, I'd give them a once over with a rag dampened with mineral oil.
