FOR YOUR CAR, YOU PERVERTS!!

There are several brands out there, Stoneguard, XPel, and others. I had one called Autobahnd installed on two cars. All of them use a 3M laminate. The first time I saw this stuff, it was just to cover headlights. It prevented cracking and frosting of the lens from sand and stones thrown up by other cars. They now use it to cover the whole front end of the car to prevent damage to the paint. Install took an hour and fifteen for a Honda and an hour forty five for an Audi. The person doing the install said a difficult car can take up to three hours. It is cut and then stretched for a perfect fit. Not all products or installers wrap all the way around the leading edge of the hood. I would obviously recomend finding an installer that does wrap under the edge of the hood since this is where I see most of the wear and pitting on my previous cars. The stuff lasts for up to eight years and can be removed any time with out damaging the paint. I highly recomend it for anyone in the snow belt who is buying a new car. Anyone in the North of Boston or southern NH area who wants a recomendation for an installer can e-mail me.

For the record, I get no profit from the manufacturer or installer. The guy did a good job and has a good product, so I will recomend him.

I knew I should have used a different subject line. On the other hand it got read more this way. PERVERTS! :p
