Is there a clear coat on the edge and polished poll of Cold Steel hawks and hatchets? If so, is there a product which will remove this clear coat without touching the black paint applied by the factory? The reason I ask is because I want to convex an Axe Gang Hatchet without leaving a hazy line of scratched clear coat behind the edge. Also, I don't want to have to repaint the black part right away, as I like the look of it as it comes from the factory.
