People are doing carbon fiber etc sebenza scales , i was thinking it would be cool to have a clear scale to see the blade and washer, when the seb was closed. Could it work??? Anyone else to would be cool to see the inner workings, kinda like the new zr1 Hood.

That sounds like an awsome idea! Any one here who makes scales know if it'd be possible?

I've made clear spacers for knives but never tried a scale, I don't really see many reasons why it couldn't be done.

Could be done ok but it won't be clear for long if you carry it, lexan is quite soft plus you will see all the pocket junk collect behind it.

For the lock up to work correctly, the fixed side of any framelock would have to be stiff enough to withstand grip pressure. That is why plain micarta is not suitable--it's too flexible. I wouldn't think 1/8" lexan would be very stiff. 3/16" might work, but now you have a thicker than normal grip panel. It might be worth a try

If you want to be the test subject in this experiment, PM me;)

sounds cool. but wouldnt the transparency slowly dissapear with the tiny scratches of daily use?

Think of it as patination :) Sounds like a great idea

I have an old lexan nalgene bottle, green and much used - has a kind of frosted appearance now :D:D

You could make a g11 scale for it. I just got some g11 wilkins grips and they are really awesome. Its translucent so you can see the lock mechanism and washers but solid enough so that you can make out the milling and excellent worksmanship. G11 is just like g10 except it keeps its full strength under extreme temperatures.
