Is there any insight on why Buck moved away from the Sandvik steel Clearwater line?

How does that steel compare to 420HC and 420J2 in a fillet knife?

420j2 steel is used in the foreign contract knives. The Sandvik steels have good purity in mfg.. Much comes down to heat treat. I like that
series of filet knives. Can you post a picture of the one you have? DM
