I certainly think they look stellar. Its one of my favorite blade styles.

Practical? Sort of.. Its a blade so itll still cut, however the point (hehe, knife pun) of a 'cleaver' profile is too "cleave". lol. With such a small blade (small enough to be a folder) youre losing your ability to cleave anything since the blade is so small, and weighs practically nothing.

Theyre still very cool looking knives however!

not sure if you can see the second image of the knife opened.. let me know what you think regardless

the one im buying will be a ti frame lock, OD g10, 01 tool steel.. $200 and the guy is only making 3 right now, mine with the g10, a carbon fiber, and full ti

Just so bada$$ that I can overlook some functionality issues...

You really need to see KA's BTB (Bill the Butcher):

that's pretty neat looking... like a yojimbo on steroids!
i like the look of most cleaver style folders when open, but I just cant deal with how they sit when closed... the lines just seem all wrong to me when so much of the blade and in some cases the cutting edge is exposed visually

Completely agree. I don't think it's all that practical for numerous reasons. I couldn't imagine EDC'ing one.
I wouldn't be able to get my hand in my pocket for starters!!

But I think in the world of bada$$ blade shapes, this is at the top of the heap for me.
Cleavers are just vicious chopping tools....

Butchers and wharncliffes are my personal favorites. I love their purpose-driven appearance and straight edges. Overall, not really a universal wide-use, practical blade style though, but certainly can get some business done. Here's my own personal favorite...early version of the same knife on the YouTube by Kingdom Armory. Another that is a personal grail, although entirely impractical for EDC because of its bulk (unless you like that sort of thing)...Trouble Blades, Debt Collector. It's a monster of a blade...not exactly discreet EDC (is that a knife in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?).... as you might get some sense of in this vid.

On the more affordable side....Spyderco is coming out with a collaberation with Serge Pachenko that may interest anyone who likes this style. It's called "Roc" and is currently available via the usual suspects on pre-order. Here's a pic.

No problem at all getting my hand in my pocket with Kingdom Armory's, Bill the Butcher, or with ADV Mini-Butcher. Both are entirely EDC friendly, IMHO.

I have no idea what your budget is for knives.....

The price tag on the KA may remove it from the top of your list fast!

In all fairness, it's a custom, and Dave is a great guy who builds an amazing knife.

i wouldn't doubt it, im a novice to collecting and actually use my knives so i dont typically spend more than 200 on any single blade

I'd be looking at that Spyderco/Pachenko collaboration at that price point ($166 preorder from KnifeCenter). You'll be spending 4X to get a custom like the Trouble Blades or Kingdom...but, yes, they are superb knives.
