Yeah! That is it. I found the one I was looking for for long-long time. :)
Got it from a reputable seller and this is THE beast!
Mike Irie's custom S30V steel cleaver.
Here it is - heavy and SHARP :)

Can't wait to use it :)

very nice. most of the cleavers I have are old chinese ones which seem cheap but I after I put a razor edge on them, they seem to chop just as good as the more expesnive ones. None of them are as thick as the one you got though and none have jimping on them either. how much did that one cost you?

What you have is most likely Chinese chef's knives. They look like cleavers but are used differently.

That is a bad ass cleaver man.

Thanks guys.
I've got the dog and a puppy coming.

So the main purpose for the cleaver would be bone splitting and other heavy work. I used to do it with a hatchet, but decided to go after this one the second I saw it. It cost as much as a s30v custom knife, so its not cheap. I fully expect it to withstand any abuse (including occasional firewood splitting work) and take it with a smile :)

Sweet cleaver...my only gripe is that s30v tends to be hard to work with. The cleaver should be tough as nails and could double as a neat survival tool. Very cool!
