Finally a new knife done after a truly hectic summer!

I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to use Burt Fosters CLI steel in this knife!
The Composite Laminated Integrals, or "CLI" for short, are a Burt Foster original. It is made up with two pieces of stainless steel, with a piece of high carbon steel inserted in the core.

I made the blade form a piece of steel that was sent to me. Thankfully the, in my eyes, complex heat treating was done by Burt (Thank you!)
The etching process was also a very interesting experience! :) Since I never done this particular type of etching bore I tried it several times before I felt happy with the result.

The handle is "wrapped" with leather that I wetshaped around the tang much like I do with the sheath around the knife.

I would like to thank the customer and Mr Foster for this opportunity, I enjoyed it very much!
So now I just hope the customer will enjoy this knife as I enjoyed making it!

welcome back from summer my friend!
this knife is excellent and awesome. Especially the handle treatment, but actually you know it's all wicked, point to butt!

I never get tired of seeing anything you create, Magnus. Always a treat for the eyes.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Magnus, everything you do is so cleeeeean, and just a bit "out of the box". I just love your style.

Masterful piece, yet again.

Thanks zulu, Bob and Peter, I allways appreciate your kind words!

Thanks Lorien, summer has been up, down and at times even inside-out it feels like!
But now I am looking forward to the projects I have comming up. Busy days ahead, but great fun to be had! :)

WOW, truely awesome, I've never seen you work before Magnus.
I love the fancier ones on your website, but there's something about this laced leather wrap that is just incredible.
