I like it, think the BK2 is getting bleached next.

I need to do this with my 14 too. I just gotta get myself some blue and I am set!!

That looks really sweet!! Did you ever consider etching the entire knife?? Thanks for sharing, I have a ton of projects I want to do now :D

Awesome work. No its not my idea but I've experimented with enough different techniques that I've perfected it as much I can. Looks amazing!

Btw for the edge use some carmex or other petroleum based jelly. Blue it first, apply a thick coat of the jelly to the edge then soak. Its also how you can do just the flats. In this pic I put the blue on the flats and jellied the rest of the grind.

I left the 14's handle coated, figgered onna EDC 550-wrapped knife it would be better...my BK2 is all stripped so it's gettin the whole shabang dipped.

I know you have mentioned it before, no lack of data on your end, just my bonehead overlooking a detail/forgettin at the time. In my defense I had a large serving of Cabo Wabo inside me LOL

Great job!! Getting ready to Clich my BK2 and think this method,by far, produces the best looking results. Thanks again to Clich. Those shots with just the flats etched are great. Now I have to decide if I want to do just the flats or the whole blade. Got everything assembled and ready, just gotta pull the trigger. Think I'll sleep on it and decide tomorrow. Probably won't get to it until the weekend anyway.

the patina on my 9 is so pretty I wanna leave it alone until it wears off, then I'll prolly Clich it too. I do like the flats-only etch, gonna do my 2 thataway.

I'm pretty sure the so called "clich" method was around before clich was born, haha. :D All kidding aside, looks nice.

It sure was. I'm no scientist and the discovery of the reaction between gun blue and bleach on carbon steel was not my discovery.

However I made it look pretty on beckers :D

I should clich my patrol machete, assuming I could find some container big enough for bleach.

I have seen some flower vases that are just tall cylinders, seen 'em up to 3 and 4 foot tall. I think they use 'em to put branches or some such in. would take like 20$ in bleach lol

I think a 9 with the flats etched would look bad ass man! I say go for it. Eventually that's what I want to do to mine.

I've got a larger blade I'm going to try this on (thanks for the inspiration, Clich!). I've got a food saver vacuum sealer where you can make any size bags. I'm going to make a long, narrow bag and use that for the bleach soak. Should really cut down on the amount of bleach used.

I was wondering yesterday what it would look like to Clich my BK14. Looks awesome. This may have to happen.

Nice work on that. I bet the garage smells awesome. :)
