Eugene Polley, the inventor of the TV remote control has died at age 96.
Some might say that his was a harmless invention, but it bred generations of couch potatoes. I'm old enough to remember having to get up
and walk across the room to change channels. (There were only 5 and they went off the air at midnight)
Mr. Polley worked for Zenith.
