Just going back and trying again has failed miserably for me every time. I either have to go to the last page of the thread and work my way backwards until I recognized a post I have already read or I have to go all the way to the forum root folder and navigate my way back to the thread in question, and even that trick doesn't work every time.
What's really frustrating is that it doesn't happen but maybe 1 out of 25 or 30 threads I click on, which means it is an intermittent problem, which means it's going to be a bitch to isolate so a fix can be implemented.
When I was working w/ computer systems "back in the day", I absolutely hated troubleshooting intermittent problems because you can't figure out how to fix something if you can't find the cause. 1x I had a lady's system on my bench for 3 months trying to isolate the cause. The good news for the lady, after 2 weeks, I told my manager that unless he wanted to hear her bitching all the time about when she was gonna get her system back, he had probably ought to authorize a replacement system for her. Which he did. Finally found the problem was a glitch in her BIOS that ONLY manifested when certain programs were started in a "bad" order. Start up the programs in any other order, no issue.
