I think this is the best place to put this thread...

I have tested my CGFBM with some basic chopping, cutting, slashing, rope severing etc, and its all fantastic, and its holds an edge better than any knife I've ever owned (this is my first Busse), but I don't have the right stuff to put the knife to the sorts of tests that Cliff does... and Cliff, your tests on the SHBM and the BM-E were a fantastic read, and ultimately it was your SHBM review that made my plunge $420 into my first bit of INFI, of which I feel is a long slippery slope, and an expensive one at that...

So, has anyone done any extreme tests with specifically the Fusion Battle Mistress??

Cliff, if you have any or plan to do any, please let me know!!!! Its the last in the Battle Mistress line (that I'm aware of), and would love to see some hardcore field tests...

If not, no probs, I'll continue to beat mine like a red headed step child  ;) and I know it'll keep coming back for more! :D

I believe a Battle Mistress is on queue to be a victim on knifetests.com .

If extreme testing is what you're looking for, you might want to watch out for it. I personally don't think that destruction tests are indicative of real world performance, but the videos can be entertaining.

Thanks Doc, I had seen it up for testing on knifetests, forgot to mention that.. yeah the vids are entertaining, giving some indication to the stress that can be applied to the blades...

Cliff is a legend though... :D - if he tests it and reviews it, its gotta be accurate lol

Cliff shmiff, Just because he's a 16yr old high school drop out with a rich daddy doesnt make him a molecular physicist with a desire to bunk myths and test cutting tools. Legend? Maybe with his mall ninja posse!

Just kidding of course, I'm contacting him now about sending in a knife or two for edge retention testing. I simply don't have the sample size to make any meaningful comparisons outside of a particular knife and changes to its geometry. With cliffs testing regiment and sample size, much more meaningful conclusions can be drawn about a given item.

Destruction tests certainly have their value, but it all depends on what you are looking for: a big strong jeep or a high speed fiberglass turbo corvette.

Its likely that any conclusions and testing that cliff has performed on the BM or EBM are relevant as far as steel goes. However, the handles and grinds are different and these subtleties will affect the relative usability of the CGFBM in question. A useful extrapolation should be easy enough if you know how much the the CGFBM, BM, and EBM differ. I'm no Busse expert though.

I wish I had the SHBM :p

The CGFBM has a different grind and bevel from what I have seen... but its so far eaten anything that has been thrown its way... maybe I'll get to do a decent review sometime...

Cheers guys!
