Cliff and the Chinook II...

The only nightmares that folders ever have are of Cliff's hand reaching for them.
 
It would be great if Spyderco made a mega folder using the Chinook II/Manix as a template.
 
I don't know if I could stand to watch Cliff work. Nice pretty new Manix...PWING!!! There goes the tip! KERACK!! There goes the pivot pin!

Time for a new Spydie!
 
Go to the link -- it's worth reading. It's amazing what the lock went through and still held up. Very reassuring.

Keep in mind that Spyderco itself does destructive testing to ensure quality.
 
From what I've seen from my Spyderco's, they have nothing to fear from Cliff. Sure, he's tough, but fair. Sal even offered to send him a Manix. I sure hope Cliff says yes, that's the next one I want. If he says no, and there are some extras floating around...

It IS reassuring to see how strong these knives are. The only real way to know is to take something to it's breaking point. Give me a lever, and a place to stand, ...

I'm sure that given Spyderco's own testing, this is just considered independent verification of what they already know.
 
I know this is inline with all testing of products. It pains me to think of it though.

Imagine watching the Saftey Bureau crash test Vipers or Corvettes or Porsches! -cringe-
