I posted this over in customs, but thought everyone here might want to take a look as well.

A few months back, I was looking for a slipjoint and made an inquiry with Don Hanson. Don directed me to someone I had not heard of—a maker by the name of Cliff Parker. One look at his website and I knew I was hooked. The beauty, designs, and craftsmanship of what he had on his site just blew me away. I knew that if Cliff was willing, I was definitely going to have him make me a knife.

So I contacted Cliff and asked him about the possibility of making a slipjoint for me. He was very receptive to the idea and had a relatively short timeframe—just a few months wait—before he would start the build. He was also quite reasonably priced and took the time to answer my questions and talk with me a bit. By the time we were done talking, I was quite excited to see what he would come up with.

Fast forward to last week and this is the absolutely beautiful stunner that came to me. About 3.6” closed with a single, gorgeous damascus blade, half-stop, and lots of incredible blue mammoth ivory, this knife checks every box I have. Suffice it to say that I could not ask for more in a slipjoint and I have been spending a lot of time walking around with a very large sh**-eating grin on my face. I could not be happier.

I hope you guys enjoy the pics even though my photography skills leave much to be desired. And for anyone who is looking to commission a top-tier knife from a maker who is every bit a true gentleman as much as he is a master knifemaker, Cliff Parker will not disappoint. Enjoy.

I am not the biggest fan of damasteel, but that badly is just gorgeous. Can’t say I would be the type of person to go for a safe queen. One look at one of my fancy French knives that I should only lightly use is enough to make me go on a cuttin spree.

Cliff is an excellent maker and an even nicer guy! Congrats on your knife from him. What a beauty. Just so others know, that knife is sole authorship thru and thru. Cliff is a master at making his own damascus, with his speciality being mosaic damascus.

My intention is to carry and use it. Granted, I won't be using it to cut carpeting or whiz through staple-laden cardboard, but anything one would ordinarily use a gentleman's pocket knife for is fair game.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

As an aside and for clarification, the blade is not damasteel, but rather traditional damascus made by Cliff himself. Check here for the differences: https://www.knifeart.com/damasteel.html . Also, the scales are not dyed, but are naturally that color. As I understand it, it takes about 10,000 years of sitting in the ground with the right minerals present to get that coloration. It is rare stuff!

As someone else said, this knife is sole authorship made by Cliff, as are all his knives. It's one of the many things I love about this knife that one would not know just by looking at it, but would know if they knew that Cliff made it. :)

Ah, thanks for informing me. I knew what Damascus was and how it was made but always thought that "Damascus" fit under an umbrella known as "Damasteel" or were simply interchangeable words. Didn't think I would learn this on the traditional forums
