Cliff, What knife should I buy?

I'm not Cliff, but I play him on TV.

Just because I am excited.. I am going to buy a Al Mar SERE 2000 Stainless if I can find a good deal on a nice used one.. hint everyone..

Not Cliff but - I'm positive he would say NOT A SEBENZA or A FRAMELOCK. (PS I said the magic word "Sebenza", Cliff will be along shortly. :D )

Are you looking for a thin super cutter or a bomb proof work knife? Will you be skinning deer or cutting lots of rope? Do you like stag or G-10? S30V or D2? Tactical or gents knife?

I'm not Cliff but I'm guessing he'll want to know what you intend to do with it?

Frank

OK, let me take a guess...he'd probably recommend something like the Spyderco FRN Calypso Jr. for regular utility use due to its full flat grind, lockback and quality steel (VG-10).

Yes ,Cliff Stamp

I wonder what folder he considers the best if such a thing exists. I mean design, cutting ability.

Basically, What is his Favorite folder.

I'm not Cliff but - I did sleep in a Holiday Inn last night and my favorite folder is....drum roll....checking pocket.... Doh! I left it upstairs, I do have my Leatherman Wave on though, so it'll have to be my favorite for the here and now.

I've never played Cliff on TV, but I cannot endorse any knife that has a hooked bill, or is full of microserrations, or that has an arachnid in it's name, or that has a lockback.

Sincerely,

A real Cliff, but not THE Cliff you're looking for.

Good shot, the new ZDP model should set a pretty high standard for cutting ability and edge retention in a one handed clipit folder. I would like to see Spyderco offer one with a really deep Krein level hollow grind but the full height grind they run works very well as noted.
