Hey guys, what's the difference between the Climber and Climber II? They both look like they have the exact same tools...

Yeah, Climber II is the "econoline" version, which means nylon scales and, supposedly, less strict quality control. You still have exectly the same blades, lifetime warranty, and all that.

I have a Climber II from Amazon, and the build QC is every bit as good as any of my other SAKs. Yes, it had nylon scales, but I traded scales with my Spartan.

What are nylon scales? How are they different from the normal plastic ones? (first "normal" SAK for me, I have a Soldier and Swisstool Spirit)

The normal scales are called 'cellidor'. They are the bright, shiny plastic ones you've come to associate with SAKs, and have been in use for many, many moons.

The nylon scales are also plastic, but grippier, and feel more rugged. They can be found on the eco-line SAKs, which is short for economy. I don't know if they're cheaper to produce, or are just cheaper to the consumer. They are also found on the 111mm SAKs (i.e. the Sentinel, Locksmith, OHT, etc).

While the cellidor scales have a hole for a pin by the corkscrew/phillips driver on the back, the nylon scales lack this feature. The cellidor scales are also generally a bit brighter in hue.
