Hi all, just got an Al Mar SERE 2000. Like the blade, the ergonomics of the handle, but, wish it came with a black pocket clip. Anyone know how to get one of them? It's the one that screws on to the end of the butt.

Has anyone changed clips on any other of their knives, or removed them for good?

I've heard that the black clips will be available from Al Mar Knives after they finish the current production run of the new knives with the black blades/clips. I believe sometime next month.
 
Cool. I sent them an email but no reply yet. I thought of getting the black blade but recently got too many black blades and wanted this one in satin. Just thta I wear mostly dark parnts and dont need the silver advertisment.
 
Hmmm...I wonder if some of that black electrical shrink tape would work to cover the clip? (The stuff that you apply, and heat-up with a hair-dryer to "shrink-to-fit".).
 
Brownell's (not sure where it's available), also makes a spray-on finish that can be applied to metal surfaces and then "baked-on" in your kitchen toaster oven. Simply a matter of removing the shiney chrome finish with some fine grit sandpaper and following the instructions provided.
