has anyone used the clip draw? i hate iwb holsters because they make my hips look fat :D so i ordered one of these today. can anyone tell me what to expect? -CB

I use a Barami Clip-Grip on my J-frame. It is a plastic grip with a extension on the side to slide over your belt. You can check them out on the Midway Arms site. I do not know what model of weapon you carry, so check availability.

I have an old set of Barami grips I use on a Detective Special when I need something I can just shove in a waist band. I also use the belt clip Ket-Tec sells for the P-11 and PF-9. I really like it on the PF-9, I can drop it in a front pocket and with a t-shirt over it you can't see it at all.

I wouldn't trust it to hold the gun secure on the belt however.

i have used a clip thingie on my keltec P32 and i have a old hip grip i used occasionally on my detective special, to be honest i prefer holsters, but in the right scenario the clips work ok i suppose, on my P32 the clip kinda interfered with my grip which i didnt like, so imho it depends on the pistol too.

i have it for my glock 19 and carried it every day like that in the 'states.

for a revolver, it might be a little tight under the belt with the cylinder and all...

but for the g19 i found the carry method to be very discrete and comfortable, even when riding on my motorcycle. i had a galco side snap holster and a galco SOB holster, and from all of them i preferred the clipdraw.

The thing about the clip-draw is that, unless you clip it inside your pocket, it allows the gun to shift.

When the gun shifts, it's not where you left it. It's not where you have practiced drawing it from. The firing grip is gone.

The draw sequence becomes: Find gun, adjust gun, grip gun, THEN, finally, draw the gun.....if you're still able.

It sounds to me like you need a better IWB rig.

.

Not to mention the obvious fact that the trigger guard isn't covered with just a clip. Getting the clip and shooting your junk off when you go to pull it out of your waistband doesn't sound like something I'd recommend.
