Clip Mod: Skyline

I remember seeing a clip mod for the Skyline a WHILE back where an individual took a stock Skyline clip and modified it for deep carry. I am fully aware what was accomplished is far beyond my technical ability. However, I am curious if anyone has made any modifications or added a different clip from another Kershaw that allowed the Skyline to carry deeper. For example, attaching the Knockout clip to a Skyline (Much like Stick did to his Carbon Fiber Blur).

Other than STR, what is a DIY project?

you can bend your own, I made a few that fit on my Spydercos & ZTs. I got the clip blanks from usaknifemaker.

Could you email the link to the specific clip you used? Besides bending, were there any other modifications you needed to make?

I actually put a Knockout clip on my orange Skyline also, just like I did on my Blur. I'm on my phone so I can't get the link at the moment, but I'll dig it up when I get to a PC.

These are what I used:

I had to drill the screw holes and bend them after using a torch. To replace the old-style ZT clips, you will have to grind down the taper a little so your torx bit isn't going in at an angle when tightening the screws.

No mod necessary. You simply used the holes already in place. Very interesting Orangish. Thanks for sharing. I just might steal that.

Looks great! No idea how to do all those things to a clip or to drill holes. I'm guessing it would require tools I have no access to :(

Used drills can be had at a very reasonable price at yard sales and flea markets. Drill bits are cheap.

I'm glad you asked this SpyKers. I have been wanting a deep carry clip for my Skyline but haven't gotten around to asking about them yet. I think I will try out those clips from usaknifemaker.com myself. I like those a lot. That's what I love about this forum, there are always good people out there that seem to have the answers to any questions I have and everyone is willing to help. Thanks guys, I got the answer to my question and I didn't even ask.
