I was just wondering how many of you
forumite(s) use clip -or- pouch carry & why it "suits" you?
Fire away!!!!

AET;)

I Always use Clip, B/C half the time I am lounging around the house or make a quick run somewhere I don't have a belt on, My EDCs have clips and I use a Paddle Holster. However, once I get a Folder worthy of one of G2's leather sheaths I will convert.:)

Clip with my Spydies. Belt sheath with my SOG Tomcat.

Most of the time it's the clip. Using IWB carry, I can be "knifed" discretly at almost all times. But I like the option of pouch carry when in the field on camping/backpacking situations. Less likelihood of being separated from my knife.

All my EDCs have a clip. I carry them in my right rear pocket( far right side of pocket to be exact). In that position they are easy to get to, don't get in the way of me have something in my right front pocket and they are fairly discreet.

Gunting in Skunkworks sheath and a secondary EDC clipped to strongside pocket.

I prefer to clip my tacticals to my front right pocket. That position seems to provide the fastest draw for me. I doubt I'll ever need a fast draw for defense, but it sure is handy to be able to casually get to it and put it away for utility purposes. It did take me a while to get used to reaching "past" the knife into my pocket, but I hardly notice now.

I have used kydex belt sheaths, which also make for a very fast draw. After a while I decided that they were a bit higher profile than I liked.

My multi-tools all ride in horizontally-mounted belt pouches.

95% of the time it is clip carry. On occasion I will use a horizontal pouch to carry one in. In all the years I've been carrying clipped knives (10+) i have only once bent a clip by having it to catch on something, and that was on a production knife.....never done it to a custom!

Clips for folders (what I carry 97% of the time)
Belt pouch for multi-tools (rarely carry them anymore)
Horizontal Belt Sheath (new Dozier Companion!(carry whenever I can)):)

Horizontal belt sheath for my SOG powerlock. I got this thingy at Blade Show West that attatchs to the belt-loop and acts as a clip for when I am beltless.

Clips for just about all my folders and pocket carry for a few clipless.

Clip only. I normally wear shorts, so I rarely ever wear a belt (only when I have slacks on). Even when I carry a bali, I have kydex sheaths from BalisongXtreme that clips onto my waistband and even the pouch that I have for my SAK has a clip.

On workdays, a large Classic Sebenza in a horizontal belt sheath (Benchmade). I like the easy access to the knife--in case I need it--while seated in the car or at the office. Somehow, the knife also seems lighter to me when carried this way.

All other times, I clip my knife--usually, not the Sebenza--in the right rear pocket. I still find wearing neck knives uncomfortable.

I never use a sheath for anything except fixed blades, although I certainly have been looking at Mr. Graley's sheaths. They are some beautiful work. Going to have to order one sometime.

Folders - Clipped to front pocket, rear pocket, or IWB.

Large multitools - In right rear pocket, same position as trane_fan. I can easily carry almost anything large and bulky there.

Small multitools/SAKs - in pocket.

LM Micra - Mission Wallet.

Clips, for me, except in the case of a susceptible finished gentleman's knife, in which case it goes in an open-ended leather pouch and is slipped into my pocket. It's comfortable there, but I always have to extract it from the pouch. But the pouch will protect the scales from getting scratched from some loose change or something else.

Just in case anyone is wondering I despise pocket clips, and don't use them. I wasn't sure if my earlier post was clear on this point.

Pocket clips are EVIL! :barf:

I take the clips off my small knives and carry them in pocket. Use the clips for the larger ones that are too obvious in pocket. That's because I'm into concealment. Gary Graley apparently makes great sheaths according to my buds on the BM forum and elsewhere. The pictures I've seen of his work are real nice. I appreciate good leather work, used to do some semi-pro stuff myself. Made deerskin bikinis for the ladies. The fittings were the best part.

Purchasing small Sebenza ended my needs to buy more knives - but that's another story, I guess.

Clip and pouch carry.

Carry it clipped during spring/summer/autumn and I wear jeans. Clip it to my right front pocket.

During wintertime (and wearing trouses) I put it into it's pouch to my left front pocket.
