Hi everyon I was thinking of getting a sheath for my sebenza and I am still up in the air about the matter. I was wondering what you guys thing and why or why not go with the sheath. also is the chris reeve sheath worth the money and if you guys have pics of it on a belt.
thanks

If you plan on using the knife many times throughout the course of the day, then I would recommend a sheath. Pulling a knife out every few minutes to use gets old if it's stuck in your pocket. If you only use it on occasion and are in an environment where a sheathed knife will draw attention (like an office), the clip is the way to go.

I am a sheath guy. I carry a Spyderco or a Strider in the pocket at the same time, but a Sebenza on the belt.

Like everything else, it's up to personal preference.

I do have the CRK sheath, and it's a very stout sheath for the price point. Worth the money if that's what you're going for.
I think that the custom sheaths are a bit more nifty though.

I'd say the Chris Reeve sheath is worth the money and very innovative too.

A positive thing about a leather sheath is, it's quiet, meaning if you bump into
stuff, the leather doesn't transmit much if any sound, if you're a hunter, that
would be handy in the woods, or, if you bump into your favourite transportation
the leather doesn't mar near as much as if you scraped a clip across it, a very sad day
that would be!

Good luck on your search! and enjoy that folder :)

I carry a small micarta 21 in an open top sheath from KSF. Works very well and gives me easy access to the knife when I'm sitting / driving.

I have the exact opposite view :)
I cant stand a sheath if I have to keep opening it to grab a knife. I much prefer a clipped knife if it is used a lot.

I do agree about the office point though:)

My sheath when I am on the farm or hunting (jogging running with gear and straps through bush can be dangerous to a knife clipped and you dont have a lanyard tying it to your clothes):

My sheath for carrying around in urban areas. Inside my pants with the clip of the sheath going underneath my belt so its more discreet. Since this would rub against my skin I went with softer leather.

I prefer a sheath as I tend to bump into things a lot, especially things at my pockets height (I am tall and sometimes clumsy) so carrying in sheath prevents me from damaging the clip or say something delicate I bump into that can scratch.

Also I have had knives catch on my chair and bent the pocket clips badly so I try and avoid that from hapening.
