Here are some pics of my latest knife. It's not entirely finished yet, but I can't help but post pics of it. This is the first time that I've used linen micarta, and I have to say that I really like it. This one is headed to a very close friend that is a member of the Missouri Highway Patrol. He is also on their SWAT team. Tell me what you think!!

I'm super excited about this knife. It has been a definite challenge though. The blade geometry has been kinda tough, but I love the way it's turning out. Anyways, thanks for lookin!!!:):D:D

Your title threw me for a loop. But you nailed it. I really like the design and the execution!

Yeah it kinda does that. I wanted to make tanto with a clip point. Then I thought "Hey why not a swedge too?" This is the result of that thought process. Thanks for the kind comments guys!!! I forgot to add that at some point in the very near future, this knife has a date with some used body armor. The owner wants to show some of the recruits just what a knife is capable of. I will be sure to post some pics and probably some video!

I like it, great job on the handle too!

I don't know the brand but I can find out. It's whatever the highway patrol issues. My friend said he has some worn panels that we can use. I most certainly can post a close up of the handle sir.

The scales have been tweaked a little since this picture for greater comfort. I have thinned them in some areas.

I finally got this knife all finished up Saturday. The blade was hand sanded to 600 grit wet, then rubbed gently with worn 1500 grit to give it a little depth. I really like the look on it. The handle was also finished out and sanded to 320 grit. I decided not to buff it since this will be a concealed blade that the owner is going to wear daily. I figured the scales would grip a little better this way. The pins are thick walled 3/16" copper tubing for fridge water line. I was really pleased with the consistency of shape that I got on both sides of the handle. I was really worried about the "grain" of the micarta showing any inconsistencies. I can only say that this knife feels amazing in the hand. The balance point is right in the finger choil, making this one incredibly fast and light in the hand. My father sharpened it and got the edge to an absolutely hair popping sharp. We tried something that I had heard about on Murray Carter's website. We stropped the blade on newspaper. I was amazed by how well it worked. I just wish I had a really good strop. I would love to see what a difference a good strop would have made. The knife was delivered to the owner Saturday night. When he saw it and held it, he completely teared up. I can't even begin to describe how this made me feel. To say that this made my entire week and all the effort worth it, is an absolute understatement!! I would like to think all the kind words that I have received on this knife. Without your help and kind words, it would be extremely difficult to stay motivated. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you very much.
