I think I would really dig a canoe, but with a clip point main blade instead of a spear. Is there any such thing?

I want to try a canoe because I suspect that the round bolsters and lack of thickness would make it highly pocketable.

You are correct about that, they carry very well. I think with a little care you could convert a drop point to a clip by grinding down the upper curve to a flat. I've re-worked blades before with files alone so I know it can be done but a belt sander would be a lot easier. I usually put a piece of masking tape on the blade, trim it to shape and then pencil on a new profile. Once you get it where it looks good, grind to the line. Polish the cut edge with a sanding block 220 through 600 grit and it will look great.

Reshaping the spearpoint blade on a regular canoe might be a fun, easy project. Maybe I'll pick up a decent but inexpensive one to experiment on (Boker comes to mind).
