Anybody know about how many of these were made? Were they .250" thick? I think this would be the perfect knife - everyone knows that the Natural Outlaw E is my all time favorite Busse!

The NO-E, desert model I got from Skunk over a year ago had a swedge on it and it looked really nice. I like that design. Wish I could have got two like that. Not sure about the clip variant, but I remember seeing a desert version that looked clipped.

If you mean the one without the rear hole that was a military over run, there were 14 of them as per Jerry's post. You looking for one John? ;)

wern't there three different variants made? mike h has the pics of all i think

True Stinky. Clip point with a swedge, triple grind and recurve. The one John was describing sounded like the plain clip point with swedge, but there are two other variations. I missed out on the triple grind and the recurve, but managed to snag the "standard". MikeH has some good pics of them floating around here somewhere.

Three Standards and one recurve on right. I don't have a triple-grind.

WOW, Thats looks like THE PERFECT BLADE!!!! Super photos.

If you turn up your speakers, that's me weeping not so quietly in the distance.

If you don't care how it looks, grab a beater and a file and do it yourself. It's pretty easy.

The one I`m looking for is the standard model MikeH posted.

In addition to the 14 with a CP and regular edge, there were 5 with the triple grind and 7 CP's with the recurve.

I have one triple ground that I'll never sell. I think I've only seen one ever come onto the market. They were pricey, but extremely rare.

:D:D

I just noticed some interesting variations in the Clip Point Desert Outlaws pictured All three of the Standards have a different swedge configuration.

On the one with the quilted handle slabs there is a small flat on top of the swedge, tapering all the way to the tip of the knife. This flat is uncoated, as is the rest of the spine. The uncoated spine is not polished, but has a double-cut matte appearance.

On one of the others, the spine is polished around the handle, but the spine of the blade is fully coated. The flat does not go all the way to the tip, but tapers to an unsharpened false edge near the tip.

On the other, the handle spine is polished, the balde spine is coated, there is a taper to a false edge atop the swedge near the tip, but the swedge is significantly longer than on the other two, by about 1/2 inch. The swedge lengths on the other two are identical.

I tired to post a comparision picture, but my host site is having problems this morning.

I have noticed the different lengths of the swedge on the Clip Point BA3's too. Thank you for photos!

You might not be willing to sell it, but I bet you would trade it for the right variant. ;) :D

I have only seen one triple ground Desert NO for sale by an individual.

I did see a custom Desert NO-E Clip Point with a full pommel for sale last year; it was pretty cool too.
