That's another fine example of your knife making, it looks like that size is very popular with customers.

The black coating finish looks really good and must protect the steel. Damn I should have got that on my two EDC's!

There's always next time!
I learned about black oxide back in 1985 when I was working in a machine shop. We used it on the machine tool carbide insert holders we made. They see alot of abuse in the form of heat, metal chips, abrasive conditions, water based coolants, etc. It protected them very well against corrosion. When I started making knives again, I though it would work well there too. Guess what, It does! Pretty easy to do to. Just gotta make sure the steel is CLEAN for it to work properly.
Thanks SpearZ.

This is a good-looking knife:thumbup:. I have noticed that at the thumb rest area where you put the vertical serrations with regards to the longitutinal axis of the knife you tend to favor the recessed form versus the flat configuration. Have you noticed any additional benefit(s) that stems from this option versus the flat one?

I like this grip better. It allows you to "pinch" the knife between your thumb and pointer finger. The double recess- thumb notch and finger choil allows a deeper, controllable sabre type grip that is less likely to slip.

I find this configuration especially useful when doing delicate work such as caping, cleaning trout, small game, etc. The key is no sharp edges- I bevel everything nicely and break all sharp edges for a comfortable pinch-grip.
Hope that explaination helps.
Scott
