Clip Removal?

I want to replace the blue clip of my Bladeforums Native with a stainless clip. A nickel fits perfectly in the screw retainer, but I can't generate enough torque to turn the screw. Any suggestions?

Try a little dab of WD-40 on the screw, and see if that helps. A nickel is the exact size, so that's not your problem.

Thanks for the hint. But I solved it by arcwelding a 3 foot breaker bar onto a nickel. Using a custom made jig and a hydraulic ram press, I was able to remove the stubborn screw. Must be the engineer in me...

I found that using a quarter works pretty well. When I tried with a nickel, the result was one chewed-up nickel, one screw that hadn't even considered budging, and a shard of "nickel" in my thumb. Fortunately, I had a sharp implement at hand to remove the splinter

Hmmm, thanks for bringing this up...I'd also had some difficulty in getting the thing to budge.

No, I'm not going to replace the clip...I just like to take things apart a little too much for my own good
