Okay guys, I need to tap into some expert knowlege about screw sizes on two of my Spydercos.

Background story:
- I took off my clip on my Native IV. Now can't find but one screw.
- I got my clip hung up and bent on my Mini-Manix and also stripped its screws.
- Called Spyderco and talked to a nice young fella who found a new clip for the Mini and both sets of screws.
- Turns out the clip was a Native IV clip and the screws are to small. The Mini's screws fit and I managed to bend the original clip back into shape. But I just took these screw off to see if they fit the Native (I wish to sell and need to put the clip back on) and now these screws seem to be stripped. :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

So here's my two questions:
a) can anyone tell me with certainty what the clips screw sizes are for the Mini Manix and the Native IV?
b) is there a retailer of such screws? Frankly I seem to need sets for backup.

Thanks Fellas!!

Btw, the Perrin PPT and Paramilitary 2 are both "to cool for school!!":thumbup:

If you are speaking of the mini manix original lockback the screws are 2-56 and as I recall some had T6 torx screws earlier and later the company moved to T8 head size making the clip and body screws and pivot all T8 for the whole knife.

As for the Native you have. Never seen one that I recall. If its made in Japan it will be a different screw than a made in the USA knife though. If both are USA made they are both likely 2-56 size thread patterns in 1/4" lengths.

After all this with my Mini-Manix and the clip, I went ahead and ordered a lowride khaki clip from STR. I think I'll be getting it today. I'm kinda excited to get to ole girl back in my pocket. Just a matter of deciding who get's knocked out.

I'll post a picture of it and the clip today if it gets here.

My dressed-up Mini-Manix is ready to be shown off. I like this knife about as well as any knife I've ever owned but it's been out of commission due to a clip issue. Steve @ STR Knives fixed me right up with a low-ride clip in Khaki. The bit of leather is from Gary Graley @ G2 Leathers. I think the old girl looks real nice and is back in the front pocket as of today!

That looks great! If you want, now that its on there you could lift that stem at the part that slides over the rim of your pocket and center it a bit better. I like how you have it though for hand comfort because in my opinion, kind of like Spyderco did for clip placement on the new Para 2, the clip is less noticed, I should more invisible to the hand when its farther away from the spine as opposed to closer.

I like the leather. Nice touch! Best of all it tells me I hit it right so your lanyard was not blocked from being used by the new clip.

Steve,

The fit and feel is really good just like it is in the picture. I think I'm sticking with it.
Again, thanks for your help on all this. gw

Thats cool. The main thing is that you like it. I would have my own set up like that as well. To me, much as I like the pocket clip to look like it belongs there as opposed to looking like some generic after thought, feel is more important to me than the way it actually looks. Its very sweet when you can have both great looks and great feel though.

I've yet to see someone that handmade Ti clips as cool as the ones STR makes. That's a fact, Jack! Nicely done.
