Hi. Check out www.clipdraw.com It makes sense to me, but want to know if anyone has one and if so, how you like it. What are your opinions on this setup?

Thanks

Very bad idea. The first purpose of a holster is to support the weight of the gun. But the second is to protect the trigger from accidentally being depressed (which would be very unpleasant, if the gun was clipped inside your pants).

Notice how it says "Do not carry handguns in the ready to fire condition"? In other words, SA pistols must be carried decocked, and DA pistols much be carried with an empty chamber. If not, the trigger could accidentally be depressed, causing the gun to fire. And this means that this method of carry is pretty much useless for self-defense, becuase the gun will not be able to fire when you need it.

Thanks, but I would likely carry a semi with the chamber empty, safety on. To ready the weapon, you simply cycle the slide, and simultaneously flip the safety off. What is wrong with this? (I'm not trying to be flip or sarcastic, either, just asking.)

Thanks

If you actually have to defend yourself with a firearm, you will not have time to cycle the slide - you might as well not even carry.

I've carried a Colt 1911A1 stuck in my belt before without a clip or holster. I wouldn't carry it for long periods of time but for an hour or two it's fine. I've never had a problem carrying cocked and locked. The clip draw is kind of like the Barami Hip Grip except you can put it on semi autos too. For a S&W revolver, I would prefer the Barami. With my luck the Clip Draw would bend enough to bind the cylinder. http://www.ajaxgrips.com/vn/barami/08?token=zvwA4g4JaRKGSnxomme5zg

imho they are great for some designs, not so great for others (in particular imho glocks, an accident waiting to happen) but in gen'l, i think they are a good idea, have a clip on my kel tec P32(which i carry all the time), and used to carry a 1911 all the time that had one, a bud had a S&W chiefs spec w/a clip/grip, and it worked great too. the only thing i can think of were they wouldnt be cool is glocks/steyrs/sigma design pistols, too much of a chance of a accidental discharge by the trigger hooking clothes, etc for me - but then again i "mex carry" my glock 33 all the time, loaded, just be carefull, ya should be anyway, but gen'ly i prefer to carry glocks in holsters if fully loaded, imho 1911's in particular are well suited for theses, firing pin safety/grip safety/safety lever seems like it would make them safe to carry this way, more so than a glock for sure

just my .02
