Clipless

I have an Umnumzaan, a Large Sebenza and Small Inkosi. CRK clips are the best in the industry at clipping. I don't think any of the clips actually enhance the comfort of the knife when kniving. But the clip on my Umnumzaan has always been a bit more uncomfortable in my hand than the others, so close to the edge of the lock bar. I finally decided to "rip the band aide off" and put in a titanium insert and carry inside a leather sheath. The improved feel of my Umnumzaan is like night and day. Why did I wait so long? Probably because I feel a bit guilty hiding the nice clip in a box in my closet. My other 2 CRK clips are less of a bother, so will keep them on.

Anyone else go clipless?

Congrats on taking the plunge... I'M a clip guy, but you gotta go with what works!

I'm a clip guy all day. I've tried the inserts a few times. Never used a single one. Same goes for all the custom sheaths I have purchased lol. It so much easier to slide it into the pocket.

Because the clip of the 21 sinks in with the lock bar. I don't even notice it. The angle of the Inkosi clip also helps .

When I carried my buddy's umnum the clip was a little hot spotty. He asked me to flatten the profile of the clip a little bit. The end of the clip was bent up higher than any I've ever seen.

He was pleased with the results.

I carried my ‘Zaan clipless in a cargo pocket for a while. I too prefer it clipless, but put the clip back on for convenience.

I’ve got a clip insert ready and waiting for the day I get around to buying a belt sheath.

My Mnandi is clipless and carried in a sheath. Everything else carried with a clip. Although I do have a clip insert for my mammoth 21 but never converted it yet.
