My father asked me to look online for clock movement kits for him, specifically grandfather clock kits, associated movements. If you think I don't know what I'm talking about, you're right. My father said he thinks the only company left is called Emperor. His only preferences are that it be gear driven, and that its cheap. Looking for just the movement. Thanks in advance.

I did a search on google.com on "grandfather clock movements" and got 358,000 hits. A quick look at the first several revealed a wide variety of grandfather clock movements and pendulums. Some movements had the moon phases or other features. The prices I saw ranged from $80 to $500.

I have no idea, but if you want to make a call, we have a wonderful clock place in Seattle that can do ANYTHING with clocks. You might want to give then a call. http://ahouseofclocks.com/

Not the best answer to your question, but hopefully a little helpful.

BTW, I've been in this place many times...It's really incredible. Thousands of clocks of every kind! They have a whole section on those BIG grandfather clocks. They're so extravagant that I wouldn't even let my kids go near them [and I have the greatest, well behaved boys on the planet!] due to their immense value!
