I could have gotten creamed but good on the road this morning on "Killer Highway US41".

I needed to run a couple of knives down South to the Wilfred Works before I went to work. On my way to work I was in the process of passing a car and looked up in my rear view and "from out of nowhere" was a guy on my hiney! You know what Im talking about. When I got ready to pass, nobody was there and then...there he was.

When I got around the person I was passing I was ticked because that guy was practically into my rear bumper. I gave that guy the stink eye and had a few words as he passed me. I watched him wander back and forth across the center line for about a 1/4 mile when a school bus pulled out onto the highway. He had to be going over 70mph when he plowed right into the back of that bus on the left rear corner(driving a medium SUV). He totalled his ride. No kids were hurt thankfully but he is going to be sore tomorrow. Nasty gash over his right eye AND a hangover:mad:

I stopped and stayed till the cops arrived so I could tell them how stupid he was driving. Turns out he was 3x over the legal limit (.08) and was treated, released, and is peekin thru bars right now.

Gonna hug the wife extra when I get home this evening.

That is unbelievable I'm glad you and the kids are OK:) .
Im sure glad they took his car away and didn't alow him to drive home;) .

my uncle (master ferrier) know a bit of how that guy feels right now. back in early december my uncle was coming down from colorado to san antonio texas to attend my grandpas funeral and he never made it. we found out later when he called moms house that was was in jail in rosewell new mexico. i called around up there and found out he was arrested for aggrivated DWI and resisting arrest. it was aggrivated because he was over twice the legal limit. motorists had been calling in saying that he was swirving all over the road and when he pulled over another person called in to tell them where he pulled over. when the cops got to him he had his hand on the gear shift, engine running, and had an open container in his truck. and thats hiw own personal work truck. his bail was $2500. his boys wouldnt even send him the money to get bailed out. he finally convinced my mom and other uncle to send him the money to get out. lesson of the day here is dont drink and drive. also watch out for school buses.

glad to see that your alright kerry as well as those kids too. hope that guy loses his license permanently or atleast for a few years.

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys. It was actually a very, scarey thing to witness.

I'm very relieved that Mr. H and all those kids are fine.

I'm sorry to say it is NOT unbelievable to find someone driving with 3 times the legal alcohol limit in his bloodstream.

I don't know if its a lack of sure and certain punishment or a perceived permissiveness from society at large, but far too many people still 'wink' at this problem. It's a serious one. One fool can ruin or destroy countless lives in an instant.

Shouldn't rant, but couldn't help it. If I-41 worries you, try I-95 literally anywhere on the East Coast.
