I'm not sure this is the right place to put this, but this forum gets a lot more visitors than the Ka-Bar forum does.

I have friend that lives up in Penn State and is opening a knife shop with his friend/ biznuss partner next year. He also has a website opening this month. Here is where I need your help, sir.

He put in an application to become a Ka-Bar dealer about 2 weeks ago I think. How long does it take to get the application through the system? Does he have to pass any inspections/tests to become a licensed dealer?

Thanks so much. (And yes, I have tried my best to open a Dealer account here on BladeForums :D)

MrKnifeKid,

If he has submitted his paperwork and we have it, we are probably doing the investigation. Because it's Holiday season, it may take longer as everyone in the office is a shipping elf right now.(myself included)
We really do check references, D&B ratings, BBB, etc. That is what takes time. Hope this helps.

PS: My condolences to everyone at Penn State. ...sad time. My two favorite college sports teams are Penn State Football and SU Basketball. Not Happy right now.:(
