This pre-order is now closed. Thank you.

Please post only one time to this thread. Please do not make multiple posts or chat. If you need to change something, edit your post, don't add an additional post. This is my order list and it needs to stay simple and uncluttered or it isn't going to work.

This is a pre-order. There are no proxies in pre-orders.

This is literally the dumbest knife I've ever offered. Worse than the Bowie. You should not buy one.

I am limiting orders to two. To protect you from yourself. Don't buy this. It's ridiculous. What are you even going to do with this?

This is the Fat Bastard Field Knife. Made to be unbreakable. Buy one and try to break it and find out. If you can break this without tools I'll repair, replace or refund. Broken scales replaced with a material of my choosing.

Here are some pictures of what it won't look like:

Here is a completely unhinged video:

This is a very heavy-duty Basic Field Knife in standard field grade configuration, milled, ground and tumbled with visible tool and grind marks.

Specs:
CPM 3V, Delta Heat treat protocol (rev A or possibly Rev B) .250" thick at ricasso, sharpened 24 DPS.
Total length ~ 10.4" ish
Blade length ~ 5.5" ish
Weight: really heavy
Grippy 3D machined scales in your choice of black or natural micarta
Grade 5 titanium fasteners

Here is the back story:

We are known for making outstanding well made knives that function very well, with good cutting geometry in what I believe is the best steel in the world. My knives have good ergonomics, they stay sharp for a long time and they're very very durable. I believe that we do the best job with CPM 3V in the industry and I believe we make the best knives of their kind in the world. They're known to shrug off rough use without taking damage. They flat-out perform. So of course, someone wanted to see how unbreakable they are and sent one to a Youtube knife destruction tester who broke one. It withstood an enormous amount of insanely rough use, but he did eventually break one, although it took a while and it fought for its life and literally tried to kill him in the process.

It put up a great fight. Let us all mourn its passing.

So then the challenge was set, to send him something so utterly retarded that it could not be broken.

And he broke it too. But only after subjecting it to far more abuse than any other knife he has ever tested. He did express some regret at finally breaking it (by driving it into a stump with a hammer and then heaving small boulders at it) he called it "a survivor" and said he went above and beyond in order to actually see what it would really take. And the answer is: really quite a lot.

Also, on full display, was the exceptional edge retention, quality build, and handle geometry we're known for.

It was truly impressive.

And also quite pointless because our standard Field Knife can already withstand more punishment than you can probably ever dish out, even on your worst day. It's lighter, it cuts better, and it costs less and they're for sale now. So order one of those because they are really great and these are unnecessary.

But, if you want the Fat Bastard Field Knife, I will add some to the end of the upcoming run of Field Knives. Order it now and probably get it by the end of next year. Or don't. I don't know why you would.

Basic vanilla configuration, with sheath, $450 in canvas micarta, black or natural.
Shipping in the USA is $15. Multiple knives do not accrue additional shipping.

Other than black or natural scales, there are no other options.

We are no longer able to accept foreign orders. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Here is the order process:

I'm going to take full payment non-refundable in advance. Once your order is confirmed there are no refunds, changes or cancellations other than accommodations for change of address.

These will ship as they're finished in mostly the order that they are ordered in this thread. As I'm building them, most of them will go to this pre-order but a few will probably be sold in regular sales. This means you will see knives being sold while you're waiting for yours.

If you're ordering a knife in this pre-order: post in this thread first and then send an email to Jo at jocarothers (at) gmail (dot) com with this subject line: "FBFK preorder" and include your post# in that subject line.

Please include the following information in your email:

1: Your post number on this pre-order thread.

2: Bladeforums name. (for example "Jo the Machinist")

3: Real Name.

4: PayPal email address so we can send a paypal invoice (or ask about other payment options)

5: Shipping address.

Once we receive this information, if everything is there, Jo will send you a PayPal invoice. If information is missing or you have additional questions, Jo will reply to your email. When your email is read and processed we will send you a reply letting you know we've received your information.

Please pay your paypal invoice within one month, otherwise we will need to cancel your order.

Jo, Bo, Mark, Ben, Trevor, Tanto and I appreciate all of your continued interest in our work and your support.

Thanks for looking.
