Reading the comments left in the thread, it really doesn't make sense to say "I'm getting out of knives, but just one more". So I've decided my last knife ever would be the last one I actually paid for, a Busse ASHBM LE. That's it, no more buying or trading knives for me. It was seriously becoming a problem, an addiction and not in the joking way. That's why I sold off all but the ones I've received as gifts and those passed to me by my grandfather. I've kept a few for actual use in my job and general edc and camping use, but I have to call it quits. Thanks for the responses.

I applaud your re-evaluation. I have about a dozen or so "last knife evers" in my collection. Good luck with that.

In my personal experience, your "last knife ever" is just a knife you otherwise wouldn't justify buying and using, you carry and use for a while, and then it gets friends, and then the friends start getting just as much carry time, and then...

I've "quit" twice with absolute conviction both times. I still have two knives that I carry and use that have been in my possession for less than a week.

You appreciate well-made knives. Deal with it. They're highly varied, easy to resell, decently easy to fabricate a justification for purchasing (totally just needed a cutting tool you guys), and there's a large community of like-minded individuals. It's just a thing that clicks with you. You don't un-click things like that - you just keep them in check.

I'm not telling you you're not getting out of knives, but

you're not getting out of knives.

Brian Nadeau Typhoon looks pretty awesome. Unfortunately for us (but fortunate for him), he won two awards at Blade this year so it may be difficult to get your hands on one.

Comeuppance;I'm not telling you you're not getting out of knives, but

you're not getting out of knives. Good one! I laughed my ass of at that one.

honestly look up turpin knives IMO best custom flipper with unique style and hard use application as well as collector allure, way better than a hinderer. good luck!

If I had $900 to spend on one knife I would get a Laconico or a Gavko. You can find Laconico's for sale all the time, but they sell FAST so you'd better be ready.

Also, if I had $900 to spend on one knife and I wanted to get out of knives, I'd spend it on something other than a knife. Because we know how the "last one ever" game goes.

Nuts to Hinderer and piffle to Emerson. If you want a flipper, look at Tighe or Diskin. Diskin jumped to the top of my wany list after I handled the one my local shop brought back from Blade. I'd go Lightfoot over Emerson.

As for getting out of knives, if knives are something you enjoy, you'll be back. You can lie to yourself, you can even resist for a while, but you'll be back eventually.

LOL Best response here.

Laconico, Vagnino, Tighe, Diskin, Gedraitis, Davis, Steigerwalt . . . the list goes on and on. How on earth do you select your last knife ever when makers like that keep producing knives that make you drool every time you see them?

To paraphrase Robert Palmer, you might as well face it. You're addicted to knives!
