Hey y'all,

So, I was thinking about possibly picking up a Babylon Hill Lockback and was hoping to get some feedback from current owners before pulling the trigger. Really, what I'd like to know is if the lockup is solid or do they have a bit of wiggle/blade play that seems to be typical in other lockback patterns, such as the 42.

Thanks for your feedback!

This is the only 64 I have. It locks up nice and tight with no wiggle in any direction. Mine's a prototype though so I don't know if that makes any difference. It's a looker but I don't find it that practical for use with the guard. I've heard it referred to as a 'pimps knife'. I prefer the 65, but I'm glad I got this one. If I were you, I'd probably just pull the trigger. Any reputable dealer will accept a return within a few days if you don't like it.

Mine is a swing guard similar to Draggat's. No blade play or wobble what-so-ever. Action is very smooth, lock is smooth. And when in the closed position there is no rattling at all from the guard, unlike some other brands.

Same observations here, tight lockup, smooth operation, and the swing guard is perfectly executed on this knife, that in itself made it a winner for me. The swing guard did come with the points rather sharp, so I spent a bit of time softening the points with some fine sandpaper to suit my taste.

Love those handles! Is that the Copper? That's what mine are..... your photo really brings out the colors. I wish they would use more of that acrylic.

Darn, really wishing I got onboard with one of those acrylics when they were released. They look great and apparently a little hard to track down now.

Thank you for the feedback guys. Was thinking of picking one up without the SG in ebony, but those acrylics w/sg sure do look purdy.

Mine has a touch of horizontal play, but not enough to worry me. Each knife/batch can vary as my 42 locks up super tight with no play. Like others, the swing guard and acrylic drew me to this knife, but I've ended up carrying my 65 Stag SJ more instead.
