First off the thread you linked to IS NOT general knife discussion.

Secondly, how well did complaining go for the other thread? Accomplish anything? I didn't think so, but this thread makes you look like exactly what you are; a complainer.

Lastly, didn't you threaten to leave bladeforums last June or so? What happened to that? Seems if you are so unhappy with bladeforums you could always logout and not return.:)

Report posts you feel violate the rules and use the ignore feature. That was the advice supermod Revdevil gave in the last thread, did you miss it?

If you feel the mods are not doing their job stop beating around the bush and call them out kelama. Well that's all I have for questions and advice, off to go enjoy bladeforums! :)

If want to see the correlation between the 2 thread's & see who the trolls are, & what their mindset is (when they enter the GKD), just read the posts in the W&C meltdown thread, along with the thread above (read the time stamps). It's crystal clear, what people's intentions are.

Anybody who tries to defend this type of conduct, is an idiot!

Another big failure here in the General forum, because certain people, can't control their emotions. This is getting old. Great job, guys- great teamwork, & camaraderie, great brotherhood between member's who share the same hobby...I just don't get it!

BladeForums: a wonderful forum, where you can learn about knives.....& at the same time, be trolled, every single time you attempt to have a civil discussion, about "KNIVES!"

The thread was started in general and got moved to CS

And this^ is your contribution to bladeforums. A person who hardly ever participates in any sort of meaningful way complaining about other people who contribute all over the forum. Nice.

133 posts in GKD. 712 in the GB&U. 1169 in buy, sell, & trade forums. It is clear what you are here to do, and it is not to discuss knives.....
 
That thread was doomed from the start because of the subject matter.

1. OP was turned off of a purchase because of a negative review on a retail site. Of course that is his right, yet, that begs the question of why the majority positive reviews were ignored and not taken into account. Seems like common sense that if the good vastly out weights the bad there is generally something to it.

2. The first post asked a question discussing the cause of said issue in the negative review. Without the author of the review chiming in, all we have is speculation of his brief words of the incident. Many of the posters in that thread used their prior experience to speculate the cause because that's all that can be done without clarification of the facts.

3. All this has all happened before and all this will happen again.

Honestly, that looked like a pretty darn on-topic conversation that was pretty civil until a single member stepped in and made accusations of trolling. Hide the usernames or forget the personal history and it's virtually indistinguishable from a thousand other threads before that. Heck, until that moment, the rudest thing that happened was mild sarcasm and someone saying a certain behavior was rude.

Frankly, there was a fairly productive discussion happening about metallurgy, applied physics and exactly how skeptically we should look at third party reviews from an unknown source.

Basically, the only reason Whine and Cheese had ANYTHING to do with impacting that thread is that a single member came in to stir the pot by pointing out a thread in W&C that was, at best, semi-related and started before the thread in question. That bit was inappropriate, but that's not W&C coming to make trouble, that's someone forcing a W&C topic into an on topic GKD thread. Not exactly something that happens regularly.
 
You don't seem happy on BF. Maybe take a break instead of asking the mods to mould the forum around your interests.

You're an adult (I think), act like it.

You're complaining about some members who were having a legitimate discussion in General about a pretty questionable topic (Cold Steel and unverified internet reviews) that you didn't even contribute to yourself? I think its time to take a step back from the computer, this coming from someone that has interacted with you over in GB&U on a couple occasions in a courteous and friendly manner. Just because they go to W&C to screw around doesn't mean that when they come out into the regular forum they're just trolling.

Seems some folks are developin' an obsession with a certain section of the forum that was put there to prevent just this type of thread from clogging up Tech Support

I have no fight with you kel but you're comin' across as a whiney, needy, obsessed with bein' accepted and determined to make a scene if your not.

I gotta agree havin' read the threads involved that the discussion was fine and would a worked itself out without the help of yet another "white knight" steppin' in where he's not needed and stirrin' the pot when no one wants to play your game.

The idea of W&C is to have a place outside the discussion forums. Using it as an alternate discussion forum, or worse, bringing it into other forums, is wrong.

This thread is nothing but a failed drama class. The mods have other things to do. If you can't get along with some members, put them on ignore.
