You would not be able to find out about a prototype such as this.
I know the owner of it..but putting a value on it would be really hard to do.

So it actually is Magnesium? That's the 1st I heard of it.

Yes- Magnesium.
One of the gents that works at Millit says he made 4 or 5 for Chris many years ago when he was employed at CRK.
I know he worked at CRK but that is about as far as I can speak to it. There are no box or papers and it won't likely be validated by CRK at any point in time, so that may be a consideration as to worth.

You can close this now if you'd like

Wouldn't it be worth emailing CRKs. They may or may not not be able to verify that knife but they might give confirmation that a few were made with Magnesium scales. Anne has always been extremely helpful with information regarding old knives and back ground information with me.
That written supporting evidence might be helpful when the selling price is a fair chunk of money.....

Have you split the scales and checked if there are any marks or date codes? Normally on large you can see pretty well inside with it all built up anyway.

1. The serrations named Kubuli serrations, they started use this serration method from around 2002, regular Sebenza introduced in 1996;
2. I saw the other pics yesterday, the handle doesn't have the checkered lines on the spine, they stopped add the checkered lines from 2004;
3. The clip is new style, they changed to this new style around 2000;

From these, I think it's a Regular Sebenza made after 2004, I don't think it's a prototype, because I have seen some pics of the real Regular Sebenza prototype, the real Regular Sebenza prototype has 'Prototype' on the handle, and made around 1996.

BTW: Magnesium? Put it into boiling water, you can know the answer. But I don't think the handle is magnesium, because magnesium is too soft, and you can't use magnesium make the lock bar.

Prototype. It's been verified by merlin that worked for crk. And others that worked there too. He also made these handles. Obviously not many being a proto.
