Boss, I've looked into this and am unable to fix it.
When I do anything on his profile with the ban buttons, all it does is give me the option to ban him.
It does not appear to be a notation about having been banned from any threads. I've looked at the profiles of members who have been banned from threads and I don't see the same notation that is on his profile. I've never seen it in anyone else's profile.

rdave rdave It isn't something that would just appear, and - while a popular choice - it isn't something attributable to a site update. I don't remember when I noticed mine; but at least I had a specific event to which to attribute it. I'm wondering if an IP address that had been used by you in the past got banned. If you weren't currently using it, you wouldn't get a notification; but since your account had utilized that IP address, the ban might still get logged? knarfeng knarfeng I'm not sure if things would work that way, or how things look in a XenForo mod panel; but if banned IP addresses are somehow highlighted (banned accounts showed as a different color on the site I moderated; but I don't remember if the same was true for ip addresses) it could be checked. Of course, if there are a large number of them in the account's history, it might not be an easy thing to investigate.

While I understand your reaction to noticing it; the net impact (other than to your psyche) is pretty much non-existent. Your account is fully functional, and relatively few people give more than fleeting thought to that "mark" on your account. I hope it an easy fix, and they are able to remove it for you.
( Of course, if that happens, I want mine removed as well - just on principle.)

There's no way to remove the record
