  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I am not usually a fan of choils but that looks pretty cool bro, very n ice job. I think you could still use epoxy to fill it I am guessing the fool coloring messed it up though. Just make sure the inside of the handle has enough tooth for the epoxy to grab on to. maybe try dying the epoxy after it is all cured and set in there. I have only used JB weld epoxy and some epoxy putties and they seems like they are somewhat porous so they might be able to take some color after they are dry. But I have not done it so not sure. Very cool mods thanks for sharing.

First choil I've seen on a 13. I think it looks kinda cool.

looks like you made a "bird" knife :> sweet.

That looks pretty good! I can imagine it being very useful. You really dont need a lot of cutting edge on a knife that small anyways. Good job!

Yeah. Thinking about it this would make a great trout cleaning knife. I always used to use my original leatherman.

I've got an 11 with a choil, and I love it. I imagine the BK13 feels great with one also :).

You could try roughing up the inside of the handle openings to help the epoxy have something to grab on to. Also, maybe you could maybe do a different epoxy (JB weld, quik steel, etc).

Good luck man :).

Looks nice, maybe with the epoxy try sanding the inside like mentioned above. Then I would use some painters tape on the back side so it doesn't seep through. My best advice though is trial and error :)

If you are going to use epoxy as a filler, you will need to make sure to clean all the oil off the metal first.

Use Birchwood Casey Action Blaster, it will strip ALL of the oil off the blade. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
