Closest thing to an American-made Tenacious?

Nothing exactly of course but the Manix 2 S30V has the same sized blade and a variety of handle choices.

Eeehhhh Manix 2?
But it has a choil, while the Tenacious is all blade
Use the Tenacious if you like it!

I would also say Manix. Delica is Japanese. The PM2 has been compared to the Tenacious a few times. The PM2 has a larger handle, but blades are somewhat similar. The Tenacious is a unique knife that is not just a Chinese version of a Golden knife. Being lazy and not looking up, the only US Spydie with a liner lock is the Military.

There is no USA equivalent to the chinese tenacious. It would be nice if Sal addressed this has the tenacious is one of the best blade shapes they produce.

My wife wants to start carrying a tenacious but she knows I am a steel snob and she said 'Why is this made in china" I tried to answer her the best I could.

I remember Sal saying they were looking at making one with better steel but I haven't heard anything else about it. I would love a flipper tenacious.

What's the difference between the Military and the Paramilitary?

After much introspection I've finally come to grips with my Tenacious. I am very much pro USA and anti Chinese manufacturers for the usual reasons. I bought the Tenacious to find fault so I could proclaim it as typical Chinese made junk. I had to give up that quest because it is actually a really good knife. Not a good knife "for the price" but an outright really fine knife I have to give creds to no matter where it was made. Mine now shares EDC time with my CTS Mili, D2 PM1 and Native 5 forum knife. It's the one I go to for serious heavy duty use where being easy to sharpen is more important than keeping an edge for a long time and more cutting edge trumps a choil I could choke up on. Would I spend twice as much for the same knife made in USA? Absolutely, but until that happens I'll stick with this one.

Cheap quality goods would seem to be a good thing for all Americans. You can work at McDonald's and afford an amazing knife. That's a little bit of awesome. If made in America, sales would be lost, and the company providing the quality good hurts. What the company is doing really is the best solution for both itself and the people it sells to.

And. . . . . as long as we buy the cheapest imports possible more and more Americans will be scraping by on a McJob since the good jobs (in manufacturing, for instance) go overseas. It's a slippery slope.

Eric and I worked for a year on the Tenacious model. We had to take many things into consideration; cost, size, lock, edge length, etc. We believe that we came up with a good combination for that particular market.

If we were to make a Tenacious in the US, The cost would be the difference betrween the Chinese Yuan and the US dollar. About 5 times. I question whether or not enough of the market for that model would pay the price..... Especially with the Tenacious available.

The Yuan is getting stronger and Chinese and US taxes are also moving. In time, the Yuan will become strong enough that the cost difference won't be as critical to sales.

Ever thought about getting a better education and a BETTER job instead of whining about the Chinese this chinese that?

So we will see US made Tenacious? If you add choil to the knife, it will be a killer.:) And better steel of cause:)
