I just reiceved my Gitano slip joint knife. Very fine knive!!! Looks good, sits in my hand just right. My question which might be a dumb one but I have to ask it. This my first knife purchased from you all. How does this knife close???? Thank you.

I believe it is just a very strong backspring with an additional tab that locates into the tang.
From what I've read, you close it like a normal slipjoint but it takes more force!

By definition a slipjoint knife has no locking mechanism.

It is closed by holding the handle in one hand and using to other hand to fold back the blade to the closed position. There is some resistance to overcome, which depends of the strength of the backspring.

I have one Lagiuole knife that takes quite some force to close.
