I was wondering who else keeps a change of clothes in their BOB? I do but they sure take up alot of room....1 pair cargo pants, long sleeve t-shirt, socks and skivies

Yep I do. In both the vehicle kit and my Bug out pack. I keep a heavy coat for each of us and extra pants, shirt, long underwear, and merino wool socks. In my pack I have a pair of cargo pants, long sleeved turtleneck, thermal shirt, boxers and merino wool socks. As well as wool gloves and a watch cap.

Down in Florida I carry swim trunks, a tank top, sandles, and a boonie hat.

Well, at least in the summer I do.

Northern Ohio - Winter: 200 wt polarfleece jacket; fleece watch cap; Goretex shell; heavy socks; insulated boots; insulated gloves = enough to walk if motor vehicle fails.

I keep rain pants, top, change of socks and poly-pro long undies.

In my car I also keep a regular shirt or 2.

If I ever REALLY need a change of clothes it is for one of 2 reasons>

I got wet from a rain storm or I am cold.

It is handy if you get dirty or something but my main concern is hypothermia

I keep layers. Outdoor research makes some very light vests and pants. Combine a good base layer with a nylon shell, and once you get moving you'll heat up quick. In the truck I keep an extra Snugpak jacket.

In the Rocky Mountains having something to keep you warm is the most critical survival gear. I don't go anywhere without a lighter and I always keep a blanket and a heavy coat in the car. It is easy to keep warm while you are moving, but it is impossible to sleep without enough insulation. A high efficiency sleeping bag is invaluable.
