Question for all of you with moderate EDC loads.
Personally, mine's usually a folder, flashlight, lighter, cell phone, keys, wallet, and occasionally a second folder.
During the summer, it's easy to find cargo shorts at your average clothing store with enough room for these items, but I've found that its difficult to find jeans/khakis/cordouroys etc with enough space. The cargo pockets tend to be more awkward, or smaller.
In the shorts, its keys in right pocket, flashlight in right cargo, knife clipped to left pocket, lighter in pocket, cell phone in left cargo, and wallet in the back. The extra folder usually clips on the right cargo.
I'd rather not go to the level of BDUs etc especially the elastic waist part... not quite in style for walking around a college campus :D
so, anyone have a reliable pair of pants or company that tends to be friendly to all of us with lots to carry?
or, does anybody here modify their clothing so that it can hold adequate supplies? Maybe by sewing extra pockets on, or similar?

Go and take a look at www.duluthtrading.com , they have lots of just what you are looking for. Their no bs warranty and customer service is second to none, and their products are bullet proof. I have firehose work pants, and work shorts from them that I am confident would fit your requirements perfectly. I also have their raingear (cloudburst jacket and pants), a whole bunch of their shirts in all configurations, a bunch of their tool bags, and every last thing I have purchased from them has met or exceeded my expectations. As an aside, their cloudburst jacket is, as far as I can tell, an exact duplicate in design, pockets, materials, lining, and every other aspect that I could see of a mountain hardwear rain parka I was looking at at REI with a price of 249.99, and duluth sells theirs for 79.99. I have an arc teryx theta jacket for hiking, but I use the duluth for work and urban environment, and it has never even hinted at wetting out. Sorry to go a little off topic, but I really like those guys.

Duluth Trading- I second the nomination. Look at their DTPro Gear. Also suggest the Blackie Collins concealed carry jeans at Brigade Quartermasters.

Hm. I carry a bit more than you, usually, with just plain jeans. Does make me walk kinda funny though...

I'm kinda OCD about having more than one item in a pocket bouncing around on each other etc.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, i'll check that site out:thumbup:

I like Columbia Sportswear. Like the PFG Fishing shirts and hiking pants. Plenty O pockets and chicks dig 'em. Be all adventure looking. Some nice boots, lose the Indiana Jones hat and you will be "That Guy". :)
