Clues lead to knife find! (pic)

following the clues i dug this older busse up near salt lake city. it's off to busse for carbon dating. jerry is going to clean this up and i'll post asap! when did this get buried jerry? and do you remember the model? it resembles the defience hill??

Salt Lake City my butt! That knife was dug up from Cliff's backyard and was part of a long-term test. Now you've gone and ruined it.

aaaahhh, there is beauty in this blade. long ago, long before some of us were born, somebody hammered this blade out of some iron he found. my wife dug it up from over 20 inches deep next to a old river dugout cabin. i'll just bet that the original owner, long ago turned to dust, favored this blade as we now do our busse's.
yes.... maybe a busse pioneer, i'll bet it wasn't a safe queen!:cool:

All electric transmission line engineers in the house will immediately recognize this as the Meyer Steel Pole Company's CorTen finish. Never saw it applied to a knife before, though.

This finish is also often used on G.E. power transformers, although not intentionally.
