cmg task lights

Has anyone used these? Are they better than the photon? I used to carry the mini mag solitaire, but it is not up to par. This one sounds great and the batteries are easy to get. Also what color do you reccomend?

It is a bit dimmer than the Photon, but as you mentioned it is much easier on batteries and a lot easier to change them. I like the white light so I can still see color, but the turquoise is suppose to be the brightest. Check out this image off my web site.

I've had a red one and a white one, and was dissatisfied with them. The coating (paint?) over the Al body bubbled up and flaked off both of mine. I didn't do anything that would have caused this, either, to the best of my knowledge. This was merely an annoyance, though, compared to when they both stopped working. It seems the tiny bent sping-like chunk of metal that engages the negative? side of the battery likes to flatten over time, making it not engage the battery terminal at all. I was able to restore a bit of springyness to it by bending it back out, but it is already overstressed and the LED stopes working intermittenly, especialy if you jostle it. Right now, only the red one is working, and only when you thread the cap all the way tight and shake it 'till it comes on, then stop shaking it. CMG has failed to meet my expectations. I bought the dang things for the cheap refills on AA batteries, and they don't even last though one charge. Worthless, IMHO. Get a Photon II.
