Hi All,

Miyabi knives is using that steel in one of their lines. I've tried searching on the net, nothing...
Does anyone know if this some new steel and what is its composition, or may be it's an alias for some other better known steel?

CPM 60V......previously known as CPM 6V, or CPM T440V.

An excellent knife steel, but has been replaced (no longer
available) by CPM 30V, and CPM 90V.....all Crucible grades.

No, it's CMV60, not CPM60V. I doubt Japanese makers would be using discontinued Crucible steel :)

An internet search came up with a couple of hits.....looks
like Henkels is using it also.

Dennis you're welcome :)
Thanks everyone. I am listing CMV60 as an alias for VG-10 for now. Unless I find other info...
I hate that, as if those steels don't have doze names each already for all the standards...

gator your vigilance is increadible, i'm interested if henckels does anything exotic with vg10. they sure do a good job with 440c.thanks for keeping us posted.

Thanks :) Yeah, I'm persistent, at least with research. Although, some of the basic things take well over 6 months to uncover...

Dennis - Funny you asked, Henckels is introducing new line of the Miyabi knives in June, that's tomorrow, Fusion 600D (Morimoto edition), with western handles. I'll post more details later.
