Hello Everyone,

I have just recently joined this forum from the advise of a fellow knifemaker, I wanted to know if there is a need for CNC waterjetting in this industry.

Geez...the poor guy just comes in to ask a reasonably coherant question, and that's the answer he gets?? Not a good introduction at all... maybe he would have gone and enrolled properly if he got a halfway decent response.

I am on the phone right now with Richard J to help me out and save my his=de from getting banned.

Yup, there is always a need for hi-tech production methods for this industry.

You might get the best feedback/inquiry from following this link.

If your willing to do small quantities, do accurate work, and are reasonable on your prices, you'll find that many knifemakers will utilize your services.

I personally do not use waterjet fabrication directly for cutting out knife blanks, but do use it for machine parts, and some damascus steel parts.

Many here use the services of Greatlakeswaterjet and from all the posts Ive seen everyone seems very satisfied.

You ask all he question you want Hydro. You did nothing wrong what so ever. We have a lot of self important folks here. More so than you will find just about any where on the planet. Well except Congress!

Please allow me to extend you a Welcome. And apologize for the arrogance you encountered so quickly here.

There was a very nice fellow who came here asking about peoples willingness to participate in an up coming Knife Book. He got the same arrogant treatment. But in spades. Once the exalted ones shut up long enough to hear the man out, they were very glad they did! You would thing people would learn.

Not Here!

And to answer your question. YES! I only wish I could use this type of services.

Hello David.

I'm glad that the light was seen!:) Only wish I could have been involved. I am sust so many years behind. Now this Texas forced Eminent Domain move. I have already had to cancel the Plaza cutlery show, Manuela and I were very much looking forward to it! At least we will be attending the Spirit of Steel show in Dallas (Grape Vine Tx.) the end of the month. We wont have any knives for sale, but looking forward to visiting with all our friends. Both Makers, collectors, and everyday customers.

David,

I am certain this is the thread in question: Larkmetals

I have been involved from the get-go. They are nearing completion. It's a mainstream book from a mainstream publisher.

Sorry, back to the topic.... :)
