Been slacking a bit. I got my first (probably not last) CCF hawk about a mth ago and just got around to taking some pics.

Let me tell you, if you've never dealt with Steve at CCF, a really great guy. I couldn't imagine a nicer guy to deal with, not to mention top notch workmanship!

Anyway, check it out.

Thanks Steve!!

Nice Steve does top notch work congratulations.

That is a beautiful little hawk, what are the specs?

It's forged from a jackhammer bit (hence it's a Jack Hawk). The bit is almost exactly 3" from the tip to the heel, 6 1/4" from the tip to the end of the poll, 19" hickory handle - flame hardened and rubbed with bees wax. The leather bit cover looks like about 7 - 9 oz leather and is heavily oiled. I don't know exactly how Steve blues the head but it gives it a kinda reddish/blue/purple hue, you can see a little of the color in the second pic, overall the head has much more color but it's hard to catch in a picture.

I haven't had a chance to do any cutting with it yet but hopefully a little bit tomorrow while I test out a custom knife I got about 6 weeks ago. If so, I'll post some more pics.

Beautiful hawk you have there. Do you find the hammer poll to be useful? I was looking at a couple of his spike hawks and I heard that the spike can actually come back and hit you, do you think that is a possibility with the handle length on CCF hawks?

Bill the Hammer Poll style is the most versatile style of all Hawk's

Ok Cool, thanks for the reply! Ive been looking for your products online and I heard you had a youtube channel but it seems that it has been removed. Do you have an online website?

I bet you've got a nice hiding place already picked out for it Huh

Right where I can get to it if needed, close at hand but out of the way.

Thanks Steve, I've only got one complaint ... now I've got to save a few pennies so I can get one for the house, lol.

Sent a PM to Coal Creek Forge and had an order placed by the end of day.

Thanks Mr Liley!
